SCOPE

Parking represents one the major challenges of transportation systems in cities and is at the center of future Mobility research and development. Parking is a key pain point for customers due to the amount of wasted time looking for parking as a part of their journey. Advancements in the Internet of Things, Connected Vehicles and Analytics enabled information support for drivers in a search for parking spaces and provided cities with critical data necessary for more efficient space management. Many cities are actively looking into intelligent parking solution and more efficient curbside management, including advanced parking availability information systems, mobile app parking reservation and payment and demand-based pricing. Furthermore, the emerging trend in Automated Parking garages and Autonomous Valet parking shows a promise to revolutionize the parking industry.

The goal of this special session is to bring together researchers and practitioners interested in advancements in parking technology and parking management systems and business models.
